Frisbie Memorial Hospital describes itself as a community hospital located in Rochester, NH, providing healthcare services to greater Rochester and the surrounding communities of Strafford and Carroll counties. Its history page says that in June 1916 the Eagle Hospital opened at 95 Charles Street, that land on Whitehall Road was purchased and construction began, and that the hospital was completed on January 25, 1942. The city's Cultural and Historic Resources chapter of its Master Plan, in a draft dated June 7, 2024, calls Gonic and East Rochester the two 19th century industrial villages. It identifies earlier villages as Gonic, Rochester Village and Shorey's Mills, and says the Irish congregated in a neighborhood known as Dublin, at Hancock Street and Charles Street, and French Canadians at Frenchtown, in the vicinity of Lafayette and Chestnut Streets.
