For Medical Device & MedTech
Marketing for Medical Device Companies
Device and MedTech companies sell to clinicians, distributors and procurement — not to patients walking past a clinic. The search behaviour is different, the sales cycle is longer, and most healthcare marketing advice does not apply. We have done this work and published the result.
The Real Problem
Why Medical Device & MedTech Struggle to Grow Online
Your Buyer Is a Clinician, Not a Patient
The person searching knows the terminology, wants specifications, and is comparing you against two named competitors before they ever fill in a form. A site written for patients loses that visitor in seconds — and most healthcare marketing templates are written for patients.
Low Volume, High Value, Almost No Local Signal
There is no "near me" search for a device. Volume is a fraction of a med spa's, so the usual local-SEO playbook has almost nothing to work with — the visibility has to come from product, application and comparison content that answers a specialist's question properly.
Claims You Cannot Casually Make
Regulatory language constrains what a device site is allowed to say about performance and intended use far more tightly than a clinic site. We write to what the company can actually support, and flag anything that needs a regulatory read before it goes live.

Questions medical device companies ask us
How is marketing a medical device different from marketing a practice?
The buyer is usually a hospital, an EMS agency or a clinical team rather than a patient, the sale takes months and several people sign off. The website has to serve clinicians, procurement and administrators, who each look for different evidence.
What can a device company say about FDA status?
Exactly what applies. A device may be FDA cleared (through a 510(k)), granted (through De Novo) or approved (through premarket approval), and those terms are not interchangeable; many lower-risk devices are exempt from premarket review altogether. Registering a facility or listing a device with the FDA is not approval, and wording that implies otherwise is a problem in itself. Claims should stay within the uses the device is legally marketed for.
Does SEO matter for a B2B medical device?
Yes, at the research stage. Clinicians and buyers search for the problem, the device category and published evidence long before they contact a sales rep, and pages that answer those searches put you on the shortlist.
What content helps clinical buyers decide?
Specifics they can check: published studies, clearance documents, how the device fits an existing workflow, and what training and support look like.
