The City of Keizer says an unincorporated area of Marion County north of the city of Salem was incorporated on November 2, 1982, and that the city is bordered on its southern edge by the city of Salem. Salem Health says its facilities include Salem Hospital, Santiam Hospital in Stayton, West Valley Hospital in Dallas and Salem Health clinics, and that Salem Hospital has been an accredited hospital by The Joint Commission since 1983. Keizer lists five neighborhood associations: Greater Gubser, Greater Northeast Keizer, Northwest Keizer, Southeast Keizer and West Keizer. The Greater Gubser boundaries follow the Gubser Elementary School attendance boundary. The Keizer Station Plan says the Keizer Comprehensive Plan established the Chemawa Activity Center and the McNary Activity Center in 1987, and that the activity center is divided into four areas (A through D) on the north and south sides of Chemawa Road.
